About Us

History

Around 2015 we decided, as a family, that we wanted to build a small boutique hotel that was artistic and yet warm and personal. We also wanted to use as much recycling material as possible. The Casotel concept was born: a mixture of a casa particular and a hotel, the best of the worlds.

After a lot of paperwork and frustrations, we managed to open in 2019 and then had to close again due to Covid 😥. Despite the short time trading, we have been consistently amongst the top 3 hotels in Old Havana (only 2 wonderful 5* with pools before us) and for that we specially thank our wonderful staff 🙏

Residencia Santa Clara is the only hotel we have but we have the ambition to build more following the same principles of recycling, quirky yet practical, use of local artists to infused the property with an authentic local connection and, above all, a friendly and distinguished service. Our vision is to have the most coveted boutique hotel chain in Cuba.
